June 2016 Issue Preview
We kick start the issue with what is quite possibly the finest Mk3 Jetta in the world. A big claim, perhaps, but the fact it’s only got two doors is just the start of the incredible transformation this humble Jetta has been through over the last six or so years! We’ve also got a Mk1 Cabby and Mk2 Scirocco pairing that define the less-is-more approach, a sweet homegrown Polo on hydraulics and we meet the amazing Touretteshero, aka Jess Thom, and her awesome eBay-built T4 superhero van. Finally, we play (sorry, review in a serious manner) loads of cool VW-related toys and models and we wrap the issue up with part two of our 50 years of Volkswagen Motorsport celebration.
Inside this issue
AMERICAN BEAUTY Sean and Kayla Landregan haven’t just raised the bar with Kayla’s Jetta coupé build, they’ve blown it clean away. And to think, it was just supposed to be a simple makeover!
At first glance, Daniel Keppelhoff’s Mk2 Scirocco appears to be a period-modified street-racer, but the more you look, the more you’ll find that this is a build that transcends the ages…
The Polo is often overlooked but, as Karl Runeckles’ home-built 6N proves, the model has got plenty to give…
HATCH A PLAN
With second-hand prices of old-skool Volkswagen hatchbacks finally on the up, this could be your last chance to pick up a reasonably priced base car. And if anybody questions you, tell them it’s an investment… PVW says so!
When Jess Thom (aka ‘Touretteshero’) decided to take her comedy show on the road to raise awareness of her condition, she needed a suitable superhero bus to do it in. Thanks to the help of eBay and a few special individuals, the ‘Tourettesmobile’ was born.
